Caffeine may increase the serum concentration of riluzole. Riluzole is metabolized by the CYP450 1A2 isoenzyme. Caffeine inhibits this particular isoenzyme. The clinical significance of this interaction is not known. The patient should be closely monitored for altered clinical effect.
